Key Team Members

Alan Waller

Managing Director

Alan began his career by completing a five-year apprenticeship at a large company, working with special-purpose machine tools and CNC equipment. He later took a higher-education college degree and set out to work globally, but he wanted something more, his own company. Alan launched Awtec in 1990. His attention to detail is second to none and he is equally at home mulling over the books as keeping an eye on what's going on in the machine hall while catering for the needs of his diverse portfolio of customers.

Mark Waller

Service Manager

Showing that the apple does not fall far from the tree, Mark started a five-year electrical mechanical apprenticeship in 1991. Five years later he finished his apprenticeship and spent the next three years on the road as a CNC service engineer. In 1999, he joined his father's company as a CNC service engineer, spending time working in England and abroad. In 2005, Mark was appointed service and support manager at Awtec.

Darren Chambers

Engineering Manager

Darren is your CNC wizard. Having left school in 1981, he joined a large engineering company where he completed his apprenticeship and went to work for Awtec in 2006. He started by machining lathe and milled parts for the aircraft industry and then began programming CNC machine tools. Darren has made parts for the medical industry, motor sport, aircraft, electrical, petro-chemical, ships, nuclear power, food and just about everything.
